Akai is seeking a passionate and driven Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the future of one of Brussels’ most respected and dynamic restaurants. This is a unique opportunity to grow into the General Manager role in a high-quality, forward-thinking hospitality environment.

  • Support daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Manage reservations, events, and VIP guest relations.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Uphold high standards of service, cleanliness, and team culture.
Votre profil

Core skills

  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
  • Experience in managing day-to-day restaurant operations.
  • Skilled in handling guest complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to create a memorable guest experience.
  • Experience managing reservations, VIP guests, and events.

Bonus skills

  • Experience in high-end restaurant.
  • No experience in festive restaurant.
  • Knowledge in wines and/or cocktails.
  • Knowledge in Japanese cuisine.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in a management or supervisory role in a restaurant (fine dining or high-end casual preferred).
  • Fluency in English and either French or Dutch.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, guest service, and staff control (rota and cost)
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and empathy in leadership.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in service, cleanliness, and team culture.
